More than $5.6 million has been awarded to Victorian councils and community organisations under the Community Safety Infrastructure Grants program.
The Community Safety Infrastructure Grants program provides Victorian councils and community organisations with funding of up to $500,000 to strengthen community safety, security and confidence in public places and support local economic activity.
The program is part of the government’s $2.7 billion Building Works package aimed at getting thousands of Victorians back to work and assisting communities to recover from the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency.
Seventeen councils and 14 community organisations will receive funding for 31 projects across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria to ensure widespread benefits from the public safety and security infrastructure improvements.
The grants are part of the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program.
